Some pictures i got today at the zoo. The baby giraffe above was born last year. I don't think that the baby monkey is that old as it is so small, the mother was trying to keep it hidden. The lions and tigers where lying down sleeping so will try and get a picture of them another day. The baby tiger is being kept inside my the mother just now it is not seen much outside and couldn't get any good pictures of the gorillas either. If there is any animal you would like to see a picture of let me know and if we have it i will try and get one. As not all the animals pose like the peacocks that wander around the zoo.

The Zoo
I have had my orientation and first day of training. It is going OK so far and everyone seems nice. Need to go in on one of my days off to look at the zoo properly. Saw some animals during a task we did at orientation. We saw some tigers, giraffes, bears and hippos! There is a new baby tiger and there is an elephant due to give birth by the end of July i think.
SAIT
In case you are wondering what this is it is where i am staying in Calgary, it's a college/uni campus and some of the zoo staff as staying in the student resistance. It is quite good there are 4 of us in a quad all with our own bedrooms that lock and a bathroom between 2. The 4 of us share a kitchen and living area. It is good as there are about 20 of us from the zoo all staying on the same floor so it's good to get to know people. I am the only Scottish person, it fun as half the time i like what are you talking about and the other they are think what's that. Have you ever tried to explain Irn Bru, it's possible.
Greyhound Bus
So my 15 hour bus journey was actually as bad as i though it was going to be. Got a few hours sleep at night though was woke up every now and again when we stopped. Managed to have two seat to myself until we got to Banff and there it was only a couple of hours to Calgary. There was nothing eventful that happen, which is a good time i know. Yeah would get the bus again but was really tired.

Cannuks crash out of the Stanley Cup
Watched my first full game of Ice Hockey last night in the bar next to my hotel. The Vancouver Cannucks against the Anaheim Ducks. The series was 3-1 to the Ducks, so the Cannucks had to win to stay in the series (sounds familiar). The game was tied 1-1 and went to second overtime before the Ducks scored. Was actually really getting into it, it's extremely fast. The only reason that the Cannucks where still in the game was because of their goalie, he made over 60 saves. Was sitting at the bar and the other people where explaining it as we where going along. Got told its called a game not a match, and it is just referred to as 'Hockey' not Ice Hockey. Did say we play field Hockey in Scotland and got told in Canada there is only one type of Hockey.
