So there was a Caribbean Festival this week in Calgary. Saw the parade when was off at the end of last week and when to the Sunshine Festival this weekend. The weather wasn't that great, it had rain the night before so couldn't sit on the grass as it was still wet. I think it would have been better if the weather was nicer but was still good, had some Caribbean food and bought some jewellery. Photos above are from the parade.

Calgary Tower
When to the Calgary Tower and the view was amazing you could see the Rockies. You could also see where i live and the Zoo. That attached both these pictures along with the one of me standing on the Glass Floor. I really funny as everyone knows that it is safe to stand there but no one just walks on to it, we all gingerly put one foot first to test and make sure, as if we are going to be different to the 3 people that where already standing there! It's a strange feeling it was making me a bit dizzy and I'm not scared of heights.

Calgary
So what have i been up to since i came to Calgary - I have been trying to find my way around and i think i am doing OK. I have been to a few of the shopping malls - a surprise i know. I have been out of dinner a few times, to a Mexican, a classic grill and then a bar on 17th avenue for one of the girls leaving night as she has gone back to Toronto. I have been to the cinema and a couple of the bars. Before we where paid we had been hanging about in one of the rooms here at the Resistance and having a couple of drinks. I have settled in now made some friends to hang out with. I have walked around Kensington, in is just down the hill from here and it is quite a nice area and has a park, walked by and they where playing cricket. Today i went to Prince's Island Park in was so strange in is a couple of blocks from downtown but didn't feel as if you where in the city - this is what the pictures are of. Also went to Eau Claire Market I'm so happy found the Taste of Britain shop there and they sell Diet Irn Bru, the shop was actually quite busy. My Irn Bru cost me $2 which is about a pound so it's cheaper than the Claremont! Still got a few places to see in Calgary and want to see a few of the surrounding place as well.
Weather
So the weather here can be quite interesting, last week we had snow overnight, woke up in the morning and the place was covered in snow - it was the 26th of May! It however didn't last long i took these pictures on the way to work by the time i came home it was gone. I got told that day i was definitely from out of town as i was walking about with my hat and gloves on and my tea. I however wasn't as cold as the Aussie I work with. It is now being to get really hot, not burn yet have been wearing my suntan cream. With the heat has also came the thunderstorms which when it rains here in rains hard but doesn't last that long. It doesn't rain all day like in did in Vancouver or back home it rains for about half an hour to a hour and then stops and clears up and within a couple of hours apart from a few showers you wouldn't know it had rained. Got soaked in the thunderstorm coming home from work a couple of days ago, as it was so nice in the morning when i left didn't have a jacket with me.
